ORC Spring 2024 - Week 7
/Hey all, I’m back this week with another installment of This Bathroom is Trying to Kill Me. While most ORC participants are posting Week 8 updates and their grand reveals, I have another sort of reveal… I broke my little toe on the bathroom door frame. I just clumsily rushed out the door and miscalculated the clearance. Oops. Surprisingly it didn’t hurt as much as you would think. My foot went blessedly numb. But the swelling and bruising is something else. And now I have this fashionable shoe to wear for 4-6 weeks 🤣
But before I busted my toe, I did get around to trimming out the little shelves. And I am SO pumped about it! I layered two different types of decorative molding to create a custom look, and I am in love. Adorable, right?
And by the powers vested in me by YouTube, I also installed my new faucet! I’m also pretty pumped about this because 1) I had never replaced a faucet before, 2) I love this brushed champagne bronze finish, and 3) IT HAS A PULL-DOWN SPOUT FOR RINSING THE SINK. Coming from a faucet that would push all the schmutz to the back of the sink instead of down the drain to this?! Beard trimmings in the sink no more! (Frank’s, not mine)
For real though - I made plumbing things happen and it doesn’t leak! 🙌🏻 🙌🏻
It really wasn’t as complicated as it looks. The manufacturer instructions from Kohler left a little to be desired, but I was able to piece it together. And like I said, the magic of YouTube videos on 2x.
The other bit of progress was going to pick up the microcement from the ONE dealer that carries it in this area. They are about an hour away, so I threw on a podcast and made my way over to Gainsville. The fellows there were kind and as helpful as they could be, given that they rarely work with this product. They are awaiting photos of my progress 😬 Thank goodness I did the pickup before I broke my toe. Those buckets are HEAVY.
Anywho, those are the updates for this week. Tomorrow I start prepping the tile for the microcement and honestly, I’m so excited and ready to get started! Until next time….
